Just so you know, we may earn money or products from the companies mentioned in this post.
LuLaRoe. Simply comfortable is the tagline. And it’s true! If you’ve ever worn or even touched a pair of our leggings you’ll know they are like Butter!! The company, which was started in 2013, has seen huge growth. At one point there were upwards of 80,000 retailers! Things have leveled off a bit now and many retailers have left the business. But my LuLaRoe business is booming, and here are a few reasons I think things are going so well for me!
My LuLaRoe business is booming because I own all of my inventory (no debt).
When I started my business, I used a credit card for my initial inventory. I was still working full time at another job, and we did not have the cash reserves of over $5,000 to start the business. I knew I would need to sell a lot, FAST, so that I could pay down that balance while at the same time trying to grow my inventory. So I worked my tail off to get that card paid completely off within 6 months. That meant doing ALL THE THINGS: vendor events, open hours, pop ups (in home parties), online sales, and one on one styling appointments. It was EXHAUSTING. But I could then finally relax knowing that my business was in the black. Debt free!
My LuLaRoe business is booming because I only collect a moderate salary.
Before I quit my full time job to work my LuLaRoe business full time, I made sure that I would not need to meet any crazy sales goals just to be able to pay bills. So I worked my full time job AND LuLaRoe full time for 6 more months just to get those other debts paid off. I paid off all of our credit cards and the hubby’s truck so that our only payments were the house and my student loans. I firmly believe this decision played a VITAL role in my success. Retails sales go in cycles, they are very predictable. And when sales are slow, I can still sell my minimum amount and collect my moderate salary to pay the few bills we have. That freedom to know that I don’t need to sell a zillion dollars just to make bills is such a great feeling!
My LuLaRoe business is booming because I have a strong local community.
It is not easy to be involved in your community when you work from home. Sometimes going to the post office is the most personal interaction I get outside of my husband!! So I make a concerted effort to get involved, meet new local people, and build those relationships. Hosting fundraisers, in home pop ups, and open houses have been super helpful in meeting my community. And when you have a fresh inventory and excellent customer service, your customers will bring their friends and family!
There are so many ways to run a LuLaRoe business. These are just a few of the points that have helped me to have continued success since June 2016. If you have any questions about your LuLaRoe business, or about starting a business of your own, connect with me HERE!
